Cardio System Anatomy Notes

Erythrocytes – Red Blood Cells with Iron and Hemaglobin, biconcave disc no nucleus and no mitochondira thus oxygen is not consumed

Hemaglobin – Protein (280 million per red blood cell), binds to oxygen that is taken throughout the body

Thrombin – factors into activating Fibrinogen, factors into blood clotting

Fibren – factors into blood clotting

Fibrinogen – factors blooding

Anticoagunlant – reduces cogulation, forming of blood clotting, heparin

Antithrombin – counteracts thrombin, reduces blood clotting

Anemia – “nounPathology. a quantitative deficiency of the hemoglobin, often accompanied by a reduced number of red blood cells and causing pallor, weakness, and breathlessness.” – Dictionary.com

Circle of Willis – set of arteries that delivers oxygenated blood to the brain that is converted into Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) via the choroid plexus (ependymal cells) thus passing the BBB (Blood Brain Barrier)

Cerebrospinal Fluid CSF → specialized fluid that delivers nutrients to brain that is generated via the Choroid Plexus Ependymal Cells and Blood Brain Barrier from blood

Blood Brain Barrier BBB → Protective division that does not let certain molecules and toxins into the Central Nervous System CNS

Arachnoid Mater → layer of tissue below the dura matter under the skull

Arachnoid Villi → small protusions from arachnoid mater into dura mater where CSF Cerebrospinal

Fluid from Subarachnoid Space is filtered back into the venous sinuses back into the blood

Superior Sagittal Sinus → found between layers of dura matter, Venous Sinus that runs along the

longitudinal fissure (division between the hemispheres of the brain)

hemopoeisis – production of blood cells

hemolysis – destruction, break down of red blood cells

Erythropoietin (EPO) – hormone that is produced by kidneys that initiates hemopoiesis

Leukocyte – white blood cells that are essential to the immune system. Neutrophil (greatest number), Basophil, Isonophil, Monocyte, Macrophage, B type, T type

Thrombocyte – Platelet, cell fragment that is formed from megakarocytes and has no nucleus used in clotting, a third is stored in spleen, will release growth factors that increase healing and tissue repair

Thrombocytopenia – too few, less able to produce clots, excessive bleeding (hemorrhage)

Thrombocytosis – too many platelets, heart attack and stroke

Hemostatis – process where blood coagulates and stops bleeding

Blood 3 Constituents (Cells and Plasma)

  1. Red Blood Cells (Erythrocytes 45%) and White Blood Cells (1% Leukocytes)
  2. Plasma 55% (Water, Proteins, Albumin, Globulins, Electrolytes, Nutrients (Amino Acids, Glucose, Minerals (Iodine), Vitamins), Minerals, Hormones, Gases, Cholesterol)

Anticoagulated Centrifuged Blood

  1. Red Blood Cells settle on bottom (Hematocrit) 45%
  2. White Blood Cells (1% or less of volume)
  3. Plasma – (Straw colored liquid 55%) Water (Solvent, 91.5% will be water), (Solutes material dissolved in the Water – Components of Plasma)
    1. Plasma Proteins Albumin (large protein large molecular weight generates osmotic pressure)

    6. Waste Amonia – Liver takes Nitogren waste from Blood to Liver (Uria) to Kidneys

    8. Gases
      1. Oxygen 1% carried in blood 98% transported associated with Oxyhemoglobin

      2. LDL – Low Density Lipoprotein, Bad, High Levels can be atherogenic, increases fat in blood

Valve – only lets blood flow one direction

Blood Filters

  1. Spleen – largest part of lymphatic system, common 4 inches long and purple in healthy human beings, possible to live with out, useful for reducing infection (left side under 9th to 11th ribs), red pulp, white pulp, and supporting tissues, Spleen produces certain substance useful in reduce inflammation and healing, functions to remove microorganism, Blood from Splenic Artery, stores 1/3 of thrombocytes to be released in times of increased need for blood clotting. Conditions that can cause problems: Malaria, Syphillis. Visceral close to gut and Diaphremtic close to Diaphram.
    1. Red pulp – connective tissues, splenic sinuses filled with blood, 76-79% of spleen, has platets, functions to remove microogranisms, debree, and old red blood cells
    2. White pulp – Produces Lymphocytes that form into Plasma Cells, Anti-bodies and Immunoglobins
  2. Lungs – Dexoxygenitated Blood from Pulmonary Arterty of heart to Lungs to Oxygenated Blood to Pulmonary Vein to be pumped out to Aorta, Cornary Arteries, Aortic Arch, and Descending Aorta to Heart and rest of body via the Left Artrium, Mitrial Bicuspid Valve, Left Ventricle, and Semilunar Aortic Valve
  3. Liver – preforms over 500 vital tasks, has 4 lobes (left right quadrate caudate), these lobes contain 1 million hepatic lobules formed of Hepatocytes (liver cells), Portal Vein to Detoxed Blood to Hepatic Vein, Kupffer cells macrophages that destroy Old RBCs. Kupffer cells also destroy pathogens, also produces clotting factors, helps digest fats via bile (fats(lipids) → fatty acids), helps absorb fat soluable vitamins, Insulin from Pancreas signals Livers to store Glucose in form of Glycogen, at any time Liver contains 13% of the Blood in Body
  4. Kidneys – regulates fluid in body, detects waste in blood, knows when to release vitamins and hormones, creates EPO Erythropoietin that factors into hematopoiesis

Heart is a pump mostly muscle that has two pumps, one for deoxygenated blood (darker red, blue for sake of diagram) to the right side pump (Right Atrium -> Tricuspid Valve -> Right Ventricle -> Pulmonary Semilunar Valve -> Pulmonary Artery -> Lungs), and one for oxygenated left side pump (Lungs -> Pulmonary Vein -> Oxygenated Blood -> Left Atrium -> Mitral (Bicuspid) Valve -> Left Ventricle (thicker heart muscle, muscle required for whole body unlike right ventricle that only has to pump to lungs) -> Aortic Semilunar Valve -> Heart and Body)

Aorta – the biggest blood vessel in our body, all blood leaving the heart except for the coronary arteries)

Coronary Arteries – break off from the Aorta and surrounds the heart on right and left side like a crown (coronary means crown), supply blood to the heart

Learning New Domain Knowledge

I have a Computer Engineering Masters and am 40 years old. I am trying to learn anatomy. The process is useful as I am also trying to improve my learning/teaching. Teaching factors into more surface area and time, reminds of unknowns that drives greater learning.

Anatomy has many different terms, terms that I might have heard once (or a small amount of times) and many that I have never heard. Remembering all the terms is difficult. Problems Areas are usually a place that is useful for Potential Gains made in learning.

Prefixes and Suffixes – Learning the prefixes and suffixes can increase ability to logically group and pattern match in the brain. More comprehension of the prefixes and suffixes can lead to a greater feeling of familarity and thus less feeling of lost. Less feeling of lost leads to more potential for staying at learning and learning more.

Positioning – Anatomy terms have a lot of confusing terminology around positioning, or at least confusing to someone that hasn’t heard them before. Dorsal, Ventral, Superior, Inferior etc. that known have the ability to give ability to pattern match to close by structures.

I personally think learning Prefixes, Suffixes, Positioning, and Pronunciation could lead to a lot of gains made that might not otherwise be made.

Further from my own experiences mnemonics and acronyms factor into both encoding and decoding of long-term memory, more repetitions and surface area that has the potential to lead to memorable unique that is not forgotten.

The more gains I make the easier the reading becomes, like activation energy to get over the initial complexity. Spaced Repetition seems to help quite a bit as well as more surface area combined with greater comprehension leads to more ability to actually comprehend reading.

Imagine an electrode could be placed in the reward pathway of the brain. Seems simple and harmless enough. Then someone decides to test if less ideal associations can be associated with pleasure instead of pain.

Eating shit for instance. The brain would normally say, this is awful don’t do this to me. Yet the pleasure center could shocked with an electrode. After time someone that hates something could be forced into liking what they should not.

Research Ethics are important and people are not always sufficiently protected. Raising Awareness is a non zero cost, and Not Raising Awareness is Not Consequence Free.

A legalistic system, a system that teaches time and time again that making others pay for the wrongs they have committed is useful, and a worthwhile pursuit has potential to amplify combination with the reward system. A society that claims to not amplify eye for an eye yet hypocritically says we were wronged they have to pay has potential for amplifying far less than sufficiently. Society trains the wrong path, and suffers for training that wrong path.

Can try to right things, deliver justice does not always equate to the wisest path.

Grace is a choice built upon unknowns. Judgment is a choice built upon unknowns. Grace is the wiser choice and the choice presents itself in non ideal ways and at non ideal times. Life convolutes summation of neuronal input in non ideal ways, time with thought, reflection, and investment in greater knowledge, time for experience that might take many years to fully comprehend has potential for changing mind. Grace is less likely to lead to regret is likely not always fully pondered.

Too easy to upsell the present to all data needed, all data desirable, all experience needed and desirable has already arrived. There is noise in the signal likely not always full pondered, all data desirable is not always accessible, can easily be obfuscated. Lower impact decisions, less than lethal weaponry has potential for ability to make a situation better in not always fully pondered ways. It is easy to think about not bringing a gun or a knife to a bar or party. That is a lower impact decision. The true lower impact decision might be to not go to the bar or party in the first place, potentially not always fully pondered.

I personally have been prone to move forward go to bars and parties based upon unknowns and less than ideal communication training. The combination has potential for problems that one might not always be able to see until a future date. I have the ability to comprehend potential problems does not equate to I have always had ideal comprehension of what those problems truly mean, what they have the possibility of leading to. Living life unafraid based on less than sufficient at times training has seemed like the optimal choice when I might have made other decisions had I thought through things a bit more.

Easy to see the outside, a good image, and think I know what the album will play and sound like. If God gave us a choice of what planet to be born on, would I choose Earth knowing what I know now? Maybe not. I would want to lose the memory of my family and friends? No. A World that seems to turn up used as an example based upon insufficient resolution gives a feeling of bad deal? Yes.

This World trains less than ideally less than sufficiently at times. Yet we are all required to move forward based upon unknowns and vastly limited resolution.
Comprehension and Resolution is less than ideal and we make decisions, decisions about what bars and parties to go to dependent on a society that is dependent upon image, image that does not always give clear representation of costs.

Competitive corporate World might think it desirable to turn down what they see as talent, talent they do not have? How we are being watched how much we are being watched is likely not always clearly amplified or pondered. Leverage factors into data and opportunities provided is likely not always fully considered.

God has protected less than sufficiently, has amped positive paths to value creation less than sufficiently in my life in my opinion. Think that same God will do better for others? I might just be, have been hardheaded and strong willed at times? Yes. An air of condescension seems to be easy to amp and hard to reduce effectively at least from what I have seen in life, it does not lead to ideal friendships between men. People don’t always have each other’s best interest at heart.

Respect is not an easy system. Is not an easy system to get right. I am prone to judgment based upon less than ideal perception and comprehension, others are likely prone to it as well. It is not always easy to defer judgment and amplify greater respect and grace yet I feel like it is the wiser path. Getting it right in practice is difficult and easy to get wrong, and trying to do right, deliver the right words and being unable to is hard, jading. Better does not equal ideal ability to abstract my own imperfections from delivery.

Always less than ideal amplification always equals sufficient encouragement and confidence for delivering less oppression?

Should someone that delivers insufficient respect be respected less or respected more? People usually mirror, reflect the signal they are getting. Less oppression might require delivering respect and grace to those that might be involved in oppression and disrespect? They need to comprehend amps with less than sufficient comprehension at times. Comprehension that amplifies with Respect has higher potential for Throughput. If Throughput is not really the desired outcome can we say the amplification is truly the right thing to do?

Amplification of Comprehension in a Respectful way takes time. Time costs are not always considered desirable. Expect others to sufficiently amplify Respect without time truly invested? Environment factors into ability to Amplify Comprehension and Respect and is likely not always fully pondered, bars and parties not always the best place to have real conversations.

Low stress environment factors into real conversation and value creation. A society that is always watching and listening does not always equate to low stress. Lower stress environments factor into Lift available, into true gains made.

Always at the cusp of bankruptcy combined with being watched is not low stress, is not low cost. If I had children I would want them to have better than what I have seen this World Output. From what I have seen I think society would do right by them? Not really. Possible to change equals probable to change?
