Thoughts from not a Preacher

Luke 6:38 talks about giving and getting overflowing

James 4:3 talks about asking and not receiving due to personal desires

I tied the two ideas together in my mind. The following idea might be wrong – if you give you won’t get if you only give because it will make you return (giving leads to overflowing yet not with the wrong intentions?)

Maybe I got them mixed up, cyber security problems reduces perception of reliability at times, distrust retaught is consequential

Those that give in public or those that pray in public have their reward? Matthew 6:25, looks like discusses prayer, pray and give in secret equals all prayers that are made in Churches with congregations are in the open and thus not rewarded? Seems a bit impractical and confusing.

I don’t like the idea one can’t pray for things that benefit self at all. If everyone was praying for others ideally wouldn’t we all be free of woe? The requirement to defend self to ask for self feels a bit in by design. If one prays for a car, a car they could use to help others, is that a case of ask and not receive? I am not trying to ask for a car here, just trying to state something that matters and factors into throughput might be less than ideally altruistic.

I like amazing Movies, TV Show, and Art – viewing content others create factors into appreciating their contributions to society and it is not all enjoyment out for me. Knowing content has potential to factor into useful, less audience members not always ideal. Ask for great content leads to God won’t provide because less than all altruistic?

So if I give art, I get art in return. But if I ask, pray for Art, then no Art because lacks altruistic qualities? Or Giving Art to giving in public, same stipulations under Matthew 6:25? A Drama Studio, Live Theater Studio that does a benefit for Charity? God wouldn’t reward that? Would say “verily I say to you they have their reward”? God of love and blessings seems like He would amplify differently. Things have changed vastly since 2000 years ago, context matters in new ways. Hollywood and Computers doesn’t change the game?

Day of Smartphones, GPS, and surveillance one could venture to say giving might be exceptionally hard to do in secret. Added weight not always ideal giving in.
