On my worst days, in my darkest moments, others have likely gone through far worse.
That might be equated to what I have been through is light, lift, easy for others to experience at zero cost.
I do not think what has been done to me is the worst, I do not think what has been done to me is wise to do to others.

I don’t want to downplay the significance and I also want to state that protection alone does not equate to ideal feeling of blessed. People in Jails and Prisons, even if wrongly accused might be protected from terrorist attacks and bombs dropping over their head. Claim that a sufficient life, path forward?
It is important to feel blessed for every breath of air, also understandable to desire more. If God said you have already taken a breath today, your blessing quota is met for the day, claim that to be a God of ideal love, faith amplified?

People are taught to like things and dislike other things and that factors into threat assessment. People are not always taught ideally to respect humanization and human rights.
Changing mindsets and ideas that lead to neighbor distrusted versus loved is not guaranteed, not guaranteed to amplify by default. Golden Rule and Love Your Neighbor more adequately invested in could lead to better communication, more bridges built, and prevention of Genocide, including communication bridges built in advance when Society’s popularity and band wagon appeal might not be valuing all in society sufficiently.
I might not desire to say hi to my neighbor everyday. Yet if I thought they might be sent to an internment camp one day, saying hi a small price to pay to protect each other. I might not always reinforce communication bridges does not equate to I want to reinforce systems and norms that might lead to a worse life for them or self (peace profits me too).
I want my neighbors blessed and protected, I don’t want to be obtrusive or annoying, and my visibility including on the World Stage is far less than ideal, ideal by default. Gets easy to go about each day, trying to solidify support for anyone, especially in hard times without always considering the future we are marching towards. If I could facilitate better relations in our society and cities today that would lead to less potential for war tomorrow would I? Yes. I would know how to ideally by default? No.
