Each Day as a Day for Progress
Somethings in life are you work on them until they are done. Every bit of effort you put into them you get out and more.
Somethings in life might have arbitrary time scales – no matter how long you work on them nothing gets better.
Somethings in life have opposite effects – if you stop working on them, they actually work.
Sunday is Sabbath for some Christians. Not all Christians agree on which day is the Sabbath. Working on the Sabbath and not resting enjoying oneself might be seen as making war, not making peace.
Yet if those people were in a hospital, needed a surgery, about to die, or someone they care about, they might want people to work on the Sabbath.
I agree that not enough rest is a problem. I also agree that some people have problems in life that can’t be fixed by work alone. You just have to work double hard until you have a heart attack, a possible system.
Working less hard might be seen as a form of placation. A heavy weight might step out of the ring to give others a chance. Seeing oneself as a heavy weight, can’t improve, should not improve on the Sabbath might lead to less output for self or others.
I believe it is possible that someone, even the devil, could test one, get no gains if work on weekdays, only get gains if work on Sunday and Sunday only.
Different combinations, different systems, in different locales, in different environments.
I might want to fly on a Sunday, I might also feel kind of bad for making people work on a Sunday. Data Centers down, unsupported might be non ideal for some companies, some companies might provide important services like electricity that keep society functioning, less hostile.
AI, Supercomputers, and Super Intelligence – allot of investment, in a World full of Nuclear Weapons, let them sit idle 1/7th of the time? Might save on power. Might remind that we don’t know everything, will never know everything. Yet might be less MRI scans or whatever important task they are working on, plus those systems are high investments, which expect high returns.
