Caution: religious and sexual topics
Words have no potential to change the World.
Words have potential to change the World for better.
I want people to see better days and blessed lives. I don’t want to be in the middle of people’s sex lives – I am not the Vatican, don’t want to involved where I shouldn’t be. I don’t even agree with The Vatican or other Churches, or other religions, or governments being in people’s bedrooms all the time.
That said people have families, families that might be broken up one day. One can say they want to inspire a world with less adultery and fornication. Yet I am not sure by default that is what society turns up.
If everyone was imprisoned – adultery would be impossible. Freedom means adultery is a possibility.
If everyone was perfect priests and nuns – adultery would be impossible. Choosing not to be is consequential means adultery is a possibility.
If nobody talked with each other, if people were never allowed to meet each other – adultery would be impossible. Freedom means adultery is a possibility.
If there were no businesses, there would be less reason to sell. And sex sells. No business would equal less possibility for adultery, yet that is not what we turn up.
If there were less wars in the world, there would be less oppression. Less oppression would equate to less feeling of justified in committing adultery. Less oppression would equate to less people that don’t want to get married not having to get married – equaling less adultery due to better relationships.
If money didn’t factor into support, people might have stronger relationships. Yet money factors into support. If money mattered less there might be less adultery and less greed.
Thus our world, is a world where adultery is both a possibility and likely a probability. If 50% of marriages end in divorce (a statistic that might have truth and untruth), how many of those are due to adultery, how many are due to fornication?
Norms and standards have potential to be oppressive. Formalities that reinforce money in similar hands and fuel revolutions between the haves and have nots – fuel for adultery, fuel for relationships and broken standards as useful or not useful?
Adultery and fornication are like others sins – have potential to be forgiven. Yet letting anyone be a doormat to the sins of others is not all ideal. Yet collectively we turn up a world where adultery is both a possibility and a probability.
Someone that has a position higher than you in a company, that gets paid more. Imagine they cheat on their wife – maybe less useful in better economic times, but set that to no temptation? Be the hero that reduces corruption and gets paid more?
The Bible discusses value in not tempting others. The Bible also discusses value in not judging and being merciful to others. It is not desirable to turn up a Scarlet Letter society, all people getting a badge of disgrace for their sins – thus sin is sometimes unchallenged and unchanged.
If the World had less bars. Less reason to drink like wars and bombs dropping on children. There would be less alcoholics. Less indiscretions chalked up to inebriation and debauchery. Less drunk driving, less accidents and legal bills that make people want to drink more, that might be used as a one up for others to profit upon. Yet the world makes reasons to drink such as adultery and fornication and the world has already provided a profitable solution.
Movies and cinema, music, and art – no reason to turn up lost in a different reality, love someone that is more pure or more heroic? It has no potential to devalue those we care about, tempt a grass is greener in luxury and contorted truth?
While I don’t want stones thrown at people, I want people forgiven and to see better days – I don’t want to be the fuel for treating others as doormats, allowing their families to be wrecked like I don’t care, didn’t want better for them.
Thus words have power, have power to make better days, likely have power to tempt in non ideal ways as well.
I want people that have committed adultery, fornicated, or invested in a world that is less than ideal of those out to be left unforgiven? No. I think the combination is inconsequential to what happens in the world including others sins? No. Christ’s call to without sin cast the first stone – I think it is a bit of a way of saying, nobody has the right to judge – we collectively invest in a society that doesn’t deliver ideal adultery out or ideal fornication out – yet we get mad, wage wars, partake in other sins as a cause and effect of those.
I only want a virgin, someone that has never sullied their honor? I don’t like the idea of painting someone who has made sins under conditions and circumstances I am unlikely to fully comprehend or know the truth on as evil, less value, unable to change the world for better. Purity has value, yet all have fallen short of the glory of God.
I hope these words actually add value to the equation. Knowing the world we live in changes – ebb and flow – a prohibition and scarlet letter society is likely to fuel hippy style revolutions – thus words that are timeless are more difficult. I don’t want people’s families wrecked and I don’t want anyone going through life thinking they can’t be forgiven.
Home wrecker exists – yet put on the shoulders of any one person seems unwise, and is likely not a full form of protection. Reducing possibility and probability is something worth investing in for all parties.
