There is a video on YouTube titled He Built a Privacy Tool. Now He is Going to Prison.
I disagree with him going to Prison – though I am not a lawyer and don’t know the case.
5 years in prison is allot of time to be shived or made into a longer sentence. Sounds like he was strong armed into a plea deal and sounds like he wasn’t presumed innocent until proven guilty.
I can understand the government might not like privacy tools. Yet with the NSA and quantum computing I am not sure how private things are these days. Add in cameras, constant surveillance, and potential for biased and inconsistent data – including for people that would like to support him I think it raises questions.
If the government wants to spy on me to stop the next terrorist attack, awesome. If the government wants to deny me due process and basic human rights I have a bigger problem.
Add in we are supposed to be a free market that treats all men and women equally that bailed out the banks on the tax payer dime – picking favorites – it makes his case and slamming his family with the crime more questionable in my opinion.
He might be seen as low hanging fruit – when we continue to foster a system still have in bed with Chinese companies that support Russian war efforts.
If I had that hanging over my head at Christmas I would be miserable, and I want everyone to have a Merry Christmas, see better days, a hopeful 2026.
