AI and Copyright Thoughts

I am not a lawyer.

My background is in computer software.

I don’t think copyright and patent law has done right by all people in the World. There are over a billion people in China and over a billion people in India. If we had to search a database for similarities before publishing my guess is we would see some overlap. Will changes to the laws actually protect people, keep people off the streets and provided for, or will it reinforce power in the same hands.

Golden Rule I don’t want writers and artists to starve. Golden Rule I also don’t want laws that protect based upon who has enough money for powerful lawyers to get to the patent first. Fairness, inclusion, and equity as a real conversation that protects individual writers and artists vs just the same publishing companies and producers matters.

With 8 billion people we really need to talk about how we will protect in a real way going forward. Will Public Domain and things being shifted into it to protect future generations capacity to profit be ideally invested in?

Further implications with Patriot Act and surveillance – early access to the studio equates to capacity to up the governments game, will the government be liable for early access costs?Law less as money A’s win set to justice. Will that be ideally invested in?
