Seems wrong to single out Harvard versus all other Universities yet examples matter. The US is continuing to invest in Harvard while people in Texas are on the streets and Harvard has 50 billion in the bank account – The US Government passes out Bibles at times, puts in God we trust on bills, claims to value the 10 commandments yet stores grain, lots of grain with an unsure future. Combination does not add up.
I like great education, research, improvements that make lives better and at the same time seems like if the government is investing so much in education others citizens should have more access to that education at cheaper rates. It has the ability to build class systems, limit future improvements – if you did well in high school had a good SAT you win and others lose is not a really fair system, not a system people are likely to fully appreciate as just. We say we hate privilege in USA while turning it up behind the scenes?
My guess is most Harvard students wouldn’t want someone with a Master’s degree freezing to death on Texas streets. Thoughts of student loans vs investment. For that matter those homeless camps in California might have a few grads as well. The problem is larger than Harvard or any one school does not equate to it is not a problem worth addressing.
The homeless guy is just God’s image, Christ, will incur no punishment because Christ loves his enemy? Harvard is like the fall guy problem – much more widespread at least from what I know – potential for less than ideal golden chains, leverage in all of it. I have other examples I might not like to call out?
Tech Giants Corporate Holdings – Apple with 267 billion, Microsoft with 100 the list goes on
Apple and Microsoft – 0 government contracts, or more than zero government contracts? Reinforces status quo or does not reinforce status quo? Mining precious minerals as a system we all turn up that has not lead to ideal protection for all made in the Image of God? Purchasing distributing phones as blood diamonds to better? I like tech, I like the capacity to call 911. Honestly? World hasn’t really A-ed that for me – likely more than just me.
I don’t want to to call the leaders of Tech companies monsters. Fall guys, without sin cast the first stone? I am not without sin, unwise to throw stones at anyone. At the same time relevance limiting not called out is inconsequential? Those that respond will use more than the words yes and no
The problem with for example – Harvard does it, we can to. Apple does it, we can to. Microsoft does it, we can to. Luke 6 and being an engineer might not be all value added? Case and point – reminder I am not a lawyer
God says don’t judge, I realize my assessment is based upon less-than-ideal comprehension, say it or don’t say it? Does the USA Government really turn up less fraud and abuse, and if it does not what are the consequences of that?
