I am a creative type and I have worked in the tech sector. There are some implications to that. I see a skyscraper and I likely don’t know who created it, or who invented it, and I am already thinking of ways of how could we make it better, taller, and stronger. I have worked with Math, and I don’t think about all the history around math by default, 2+2 my next thought is 4 not about the decimal system, who created it and why.
I am not an expert in history. Requirement to be a PhD to discuss topics in history would likely prevent much of the World including me from talking in ways that could lead to more value and more peace.
Democracy is a way of life. A way of life that has probably lead to more opportunities and freedom for my life than other’s lives in the World. I have to speak in broad generality because each case is different, and details are vastly important.
Democracy done wrong has been both In By Design and a Problem. If USA gave its original brand of Democracy to other countries, those countries might allow slavery and be headed for a civil war in the future. Creating new democracies that help other countries not experience the same problems our country has is both useful and has potential for less than ideally turned up.
Democracy matters. More Democracy Matters. Getting it Right Matters. Having the Right Amount of Resources matters to Getting it Right, to Inspiring a World that wants More and Not Less.
Ways of life are fought and died for. A Democracy, The United States helped prevent untold suffering by helping stop the Genocide in World War 2, helping end the war with the Atomic Bombs. Wars fought and never ended is suffering that is hard to quantify. Peace is not always appreciated until it is lost.
I stare at a World from less-than-ideal health and I see people hurting. I want people hurt less, to hurt less, to suffer less. I do not have all the details others and those in charge have. I might be as mad, angry or madder if I knew more. Anger and suffering is less than all stress out, likely less than all heart attacks out. A future fueled with less rage and anger is somewhat dependent on details I do not know. I will likely learn more over time, distance from details does not always equate to greater level of true knowledge and less obfuscation.
Knowledge is a system that is In By Design, Subject to Change, Subject to Useful, Subject to Valuation that is not always ideal, Subject to wrong details highlighted, Subject to certain details highlighted too much, Subject to obfuscation and increased obfuscation via distance in time, and is somewhat temporary – the lessons learned at a young age are likely to be the same in the mind at an old age?
A certain amount of the World’s knowledge has been instilled in me over time. How much, how useful is subject to debate. A PhD in History or someone that knows The Bible phrase “Blessed are the peacemakers” – two vastly different sets of knowledge, both extremely valuable.
