Inspiring Imagination, Thought, Critical Thinking, Creative Problem Solving, and Design
Feeling cornered with no possible solutions to a problem can be frustrating, can increase anxiety. All paths that might be possible to fix a problem might not always be probable. The idea God is fighting our battles is reassuring, thus it inspires less worry, encouragement that the situation, whatever it may be is not hopeless. Discouragement allowed to remain supreme has high potential for not amplifying sufficient value. Discouragement is not a Throughput Enabler, is Not a Problem Solver.
What is Inspiring might not always be what is Encouragement. Seeing a homeless shelter, seeing bullets flying in a war torn region might Inspire Better Support and More Peace, more appreciation for the fact oppression and disagreement can scale out of control. Seeing people hurting, seeing people with high potential for winding up in a body bag in endless wars while politicians use pretty words that seem to fail to deliver is not ideal encouragement amplified.
Creative Problem Solving is a skill, is a process, is a process and skill that can be practiced and improved. Throughput for Creative Problem Solving needs to be invested in in advance, preferably years before problems arise. Having an extra tool that is like a multi tool in critical situations can be allot of power that might not otherwise exist.
I can only think of something one way might lead to glass is half full. Where as an artist might say a half full glass has transparent reflective qualities that are beautiful, that could be placed in different situations to inspire paintings and still-life artwork. The difference is the artist realizes primary purpose might be less than ideal thus finds a way to amplify potential in other lights, from different perspectives. The one that sees the glass as only half full will only ever be half full fails to take into account their own perspective, where life has currently positioned them might be less than ideal.
If we consider our current life experience, our training that has delivered us to what we are and how we think at this point in time, and give way to pride to say it might be less than sufficient to judge all cases it has the potential for being enabling, and freeing versus another wrong in need of being righted, a wrong with the capacity for increasing anger, frustration, and anxiety. Decisions can be left in the air, left in the air might be more the ideal choice in some cases, and might be detrimental in others. I don’t have to decide on that is freeing at least for the decision maker.
Decision Making capacity is Valuable, has the Potential for Value Creation, and can be inspired by people with less than ideal intentions and motivations. Others testing to see if someone is a Part of PartyA or PartyB given PartyNoneOfYourBusiness as a result can be an enabling answer, can be an answer that reminds others their capacity and authority for testing is far less ideal, mankind does not always test wisely, or with intentions not motivated via Max Profit, Greed, and Evil.
People are Not Perfect. Working to be Less Biased takes work. Takes work that there is not always ideal time to invest in. Less Biased does not equal zero bias, claims of got it perfect is the Is Perfect Bias, a Bias of its own. Everyone on Earth is a Work In Progress until the day they die, claiming less seems unwise.
Imagination takes Practice, Descriptive Writing can Inspire Imagination, Imagination can Inspire Descriptive Writing
Immersive Writing transports the reader into a World that is heightened by sound, touch, taste, smell, motion, temperature, dimensionality, and forms. Examples abstract and concrete can envelop the reader and strengthen the experience. More time invested is more surface area, more surface area that has the potential to Inspire Critical Thinking and Potentially Creative Problem Solving.
Imagery is important. Precise Adjectives are important. Guided Practice is Important.
Imagination Guided Practice 1
A mountain.
Just the noun mountain inspires thought, has the potential to inspire imagination. What kind of mountain, covered in snow and ice, or a high hill in Ireland? Potentially a volcano that is not active or even active? What kind of mountain paths are on it? Are there any Waterfalls nearby, a Waterfall on a mountain in Hawaii is far different than a Waterfall on the side of a mountain in Oregon.
What are potentially useful adjectives to describe the mountain in a way that transports the readers imagination to as if they were standing on that mountain having profound epiphanies that make them feel like the most inspiring metaphor?
Adjectives: Giant, Colossal, Frigid, Towering, Skyscraping, Ominous, Enveloping, Enshrowding
Potential for personification with vivid verbs?
The giant mountain tore through the cloudy sky as a knife through butter as it danced in an ominous fashion beneath the sunlight radiating light, shadow and motion that might not otherwise exist.
Imagination Guided Practice 2
Morphs
Imagine a dog. Hold the image of the dog in your head. What breed is it? What does it look like? What color is its fur? Is it a big dog or small dog? How do they sound, the pitter patter of their feet? Do they bark? How often do they bark? How does their fur feel, is it soft, short haired like microfiber or long hair? Are they smiling, can they fetch?
Now hold that dogs image in your mind for a while, imagine taking them for a walk in the park, in a hot desert day in an Arizona suburb, on a cold day, on a day it might be about to rain.
Now imagine that dog morphing into a cat. What kind of cat is it? Is the fur color the same or different? Does the cat have short hair, long hair, or no hair? Does the cat have the same collar the dog had on, or did the dog not have a collar? Is the cat playful or stand offish? Will the cat play with a string? What properties does the cat have that are similar to the dog, what properties are different? Can you imagine taking the cat on those same walks? Possibly in a carrier? How might that change the walks. Extra pouch for water on a hot Arizona day?
Key Details, what kind of adjectives could help describe the dog and the cat?
Adjectives: Joyful, Courageous, Inspiring, Hopeful, Soft, Fuzzy, Sharp, Agile, Dexterous, Friendly, Precarious, Inviting, Sweet, Kindhearted, Protective, Encouraging, Fast, Swift, Quick, Curious
Now speed up the Morph from Dog to Cat, then Cat back to Dog, from Elephant to Zebra, from Zebra back to Elephant. Are there any specially properties about the morph? Is there a puff of smoke and immediately different or do the 3d images transform from one form to the other. Consider viewing the change and change back from different perspectives, a sky view, from the left, from the right, under a clear bridge. Do the Animals maintain the same level of cuteness while morphing? Do their eyes look giant and watery? Would their pleas for kindness sway even a cold heart of stone to warmth and kindness?
