USA in 2021

I love the people in the world and our country.  I am not a historian.  I can only comment from the way history has been defined for me.

Our country constantly has to balance between helping the world and protecting our people.  If we look at The United States as a mission and as democracy to look to and depend upon we have to make certain compromises.

I don’t want war.  I want everyone to be protected.  I don’t want oppression.

President Reagan made citizens out of many illegal immigrants.  He saw that there were already people in the country, maybe they didn’t get here the right way but mercy meant more than being right.  This is beautiful.  The problem is that others that wish to harm our nation know that a super power you can’t attack militarily can only be destroyed from the inside out.  Hardworking Christian people and people from other nations who want to love and protect others are people I would be glad to have in my country.  Our system seems to be not able to truly take care of the people we currently have.  I don’t want people moving here to end up dying on the side of the road.

President Bush had probably originally planned on being more like President Reagan.  He got blindsided by September 11 and over compensated by overextending our country in to more wars.  When our country gets hit like that people want to return fire.  It ended up costing us way more lives than we originally lost.  President Obama saw this and wanted to take the country in a different direction.  He is a great wordsmith and the liberal media wanted to crack down on the voices that got us overextended and brought us into war.  Maybe they view this as a necessary oppression to keep us out of future wars.

President Obama pushed for Healthcare for all.  The motivation is a good one yet if our system can’t support it and we let “the flood gates” open we end up with a system like Hurricane Katrina instead of a system where everyone gets support.  My guess is The Vatican would house everyone if they could, but they cannot so they have to depend on the rest of the world to help.  President Trump seems to be a bit of another over compensation due to people wanting to maintain their free speech and a system closer to the wealth and lives of their fathers.  Parents want to see their children have a better life than they had.  When they see it go in the opposite direction they get defensive.

Both immigrants and the people already here have a lot in common.  Real oppression exists in some places in the world. Including the United States.  If the system can’t be protected, we stop being able to help anyone.  Oppression is a slippery slope and if we don’t fight it we could lose our ability to have free speech in the future.

God has produced a system that requires us to both use our brains and where faith can move mountains.  Trying to reconcile those two things is tough and I haven’t quite mastered it.  I both pray and I try to use logic.  Logic to make decisions on what I do understand and faith, love, and mercy for all I don’t.  I want life to be better for all people.

A better life could be misused as well.  If we all looked out for each other and the world was perfect this would be easier.  If we all agreed on what looking out for each other meant this would be easier as well.  Killing people and locking people in cages for long times isn’t cool in my opinion.  People might lock up those they think might retaliate or they might lock up those they just don’t want to pay or forgive. If someone is an actual threat it is one thing.  If people are labeling and throwing them under the bus because of jealousy or greed it is an entirely different thing.

Some might be left without healthcare to protect society.  A cage of its own.  These health problems can have dramatic side effects.  Who wants a giant CEO salary if it means someone in society gets run over because the healthcare wasn’t there.  I don’t.  At the same time I would like to be able to support and protect my family.  I like to see movies and travel.  I love art and music.  I love meeting new people and I like and value the long term relationships.  Definitely a hard balancing act.  Please forgive me for what I don’t get right.

I am trying and I could work harder.  I have lots of interests and it makes me feel like I am going in all different directions.  There are better and more talented artists than me.  I still love art and music.  There are better engineers and coders than me.  I still think technology is amazing.  There are better builders and architects than me.  System design still interests me.

I think it is wise to have some knowledge of different things in case some giant death machine starts being built.  People that know this could use it as a way to discredit me.  Some might make it look like something is going on as a test.  I want to speak up to protect our drinking water and our environment.  I also don’t want people or CEOs spending time in jail for things they miss.  We all miss some pitches and I don’t want anyone being thrown out of the game.  Our system feels way too unforgiving right now.  Why I believe in Christ and God without it we all are lost.  If I get discredited early on I might not be there to stop the bigger problem later.  Knowing which battles to fight not always easy.  Don’t swing at every pitch.  Tests at a certain point can be a way to distract and detour.   Some people might think the only way to make sure they will hit home runs is to continuously pitch and test.  One player not designed to stay at bat the entire length of the game.  Figuratively speaking, I am not speaking on The Great Game.

A long way of saying I want more support and less tests.  Doesn’t mean I want less teachers in my life.
