Investment is a risk.  Risk requires good faith.

Thoughts on if one knows a company has faulty building materials and has training in engineering they have a choice to make.  Walk away entirely from the company, never get close to it or try to get involved and fix what they see wrong to make a better future.

Maybe original assessment was wrong, an amazing or even better bridge is built without interaction.  Or maybe getting involved and making a difference is exactly what this World needs to be a better place.

Artificial Intelligence and Supercomputers are like a bridge yet they are also like a new invention.  They factor into support today and in the future – like a bridge we want them to be strong and not risk falling on people or hurting a small percentage of the population.  Increasing value while decreasing risk is valuable.  Selling freedom for the price of less risk and security is a form of risk, risk one would like to mitigate.  AI is new territory – new territory and new inventions are inherently risky – QA not always ideally turned up.

The future has the potential to continuously turn governments up.  Governments turned up might equate to more cameras, more censorship, and more control.  Governments that protect human rights, humanization, and personal choice, freedom has shown precedent for being less than ideally turned up over time.

Increased Freedom and less regulation frees the hands to try new innovation.  Sometime new innovation fails in ways people can’t initially predict.  Innovation failing showing inherent risks might increase regulation and oversight, increased regulation and oversight is unlikely to always stop progress, though it might shift it to better or worse hands.
