Could be my friend won’t let me B

The word is be, can’t blame people for thinking that is what I meant.  If B is Ban, Beat, Bunt, Bend to my will, B represents punishment.

Imagine you want a career in FieldA and you are not seeing sufficient gains.  Should you hang around with more people from FieldB, FieldC, or FieldA?  Keeping me out of FieldA might be punishment, might be B-ing me – them in FieldA, when they are not all A, not all invested?

Its an awful combination of thoughts which might leave the person in pursuit of FieldA disenfranchised from FieldA, FieldB, and FieldC.  Have to meet quota is not all pretty.

I am a person.  I am a person that believes in the Golden Rule.  I am a person that has career ambitions.  I am a person that does not like their time wasted.  I am a person that does not like time devalued – as it is problematic on a more systematic level – systemic injustice plus wasted time is common set to animals not souls.

All that said I want people from different fields, from different value sets, from different perspectives, from less than ideal upbringings as part of my life.  I can’t say I always represent, I might play to a crowd to try and get a job, get support, actually be able to pursue my dreams.  It would be ideal to be acutely honest yet in combination with capitalist society sales and inclusion I might not see as all good.

They want me as their friend but won’t let me B?  I can’t spank them?  Spanking does kind of take a sexual form.  Could also be useful – tell them what they got wrong so they win the game next time – though who am I really to tell them and if I get it right or if I get it wrong…. It’s B.

Resource Cost Experiment 

Resource cost as higher.  Imagine each day you have access to 2 pieces of bread.  Imagine you then have access to 0.5 pieces (1/2) piece of bread each day.

Thoughts are on how to maximize efficiency and meet a budget.  The bread is now more costly to lose.  If one loses a loaf they lose 4x as many days of 0.5 bread as when they had 2 pieces of bread a day.  The value of bread had gone up – potentially due to the price of bread rising, or potentially due to lower wages, lower capacity to purchase.  Loss is also more costly, losing 0.5 bread each more costly than losing 0.5 bread when have 2 slices of bread each day.

Imagine the rich in society increase the cost of bread and simultaneously lower wages and reduce workforces.  There is likely a number at which historians and potentially religious authorities (Churches and Temples, those familiar with history) where this will become a liability for the rich.  The idea is to increase profit, available resources not to generate the conditions for the next French Revolution.

Now is this thought experiment zero cost, inconsequential to the rich?  Speaking about the problem facilitates the problem at times – if you talk about a depression and recession, will people save more and demand less?  The capacity for the rich to charge is devalued – less power is less valuable – a battery with 25% power or a battery with 100% power.  This is potentially why concessions are made for some, outliers or exceptions to the rule. Thoughts of the HBO Show Rome and Caesar talking about making a personal offer.  If the right people are included in the profit (a subset of everyone that needs) then no big deal to increase costs and lower buying capacity?

My thoughts are about economics in a system that gets harder and harder – inflation and less jobs higher unemployment.  Less to go around might equate to reduced supply and greater demand.  Less to go around is not all more appreciation for a generous God, a God that is greater than 0 sum, a God that can fix things quickly, quickly in a way that makes fellow citizens in society A fee less, run closer to the grey margin as a way to make ends meet.  Said another way reduced throughput has potential to lead to reduced throughput.

Thus lower prices, giving people more grace and ways to see better days has high potential for carry through that is valuable.  The future of past 2000 at least in to 2025 is a future of automation that is IBD In By Design and relevant.  Has the Church lead the charge on making sure people still feel included in society and haven’t been left as unvalued on the side of the street, homeless and destitute 2000-2025?  Church out might have been worse and homeless tent cities across the nation is more than concerning – might and likely has had potential to reach past critical levels in non ideal ways with society.  

That said if I had to bet on The Church will continue reinvesting in the same profit based system that funnels money and power into the hands of a few or will actually enable a future with less homeless combined with the increases in automation (Think Detroit and Auto-manufacturing) now turned up further by AI then I would probably be on status quo will be continued in non-ideal ways.  Change is hard, change is less comfortable, change doesn’t always make ends meet – yet change is coming, IBD in by design, and will arrive sooner for some than others.  Gives feeling of what gives God in practice – if one believes in a God capable of miracles, a God that is greater than a zero sum bullshit engine.

If the Church taught everyone math less, the congregation might have less capacity to max profit and leave each other with less.  Yet not teaching math might equate to a slower, more inadequate military, which means weaker, potentially tastier to the next hell bent imperialist regime (easy target for Nazis as short hand).  God says do right by each other, invest in Golden Rule and love to one another (love your neighbor) – yet in practice it might leave math teachers thinking, should I have taught them that?

“I can waste your time as no big deal” – Christ maybe didn’t say it, yet in practice life starts to sound like that.

A Church that doesn’t see an hour of time as precious, as an hour of my time as worth protecting is a problem.  It is not Golden Rule, it is not ideal delivery on James 4:17.

Just waste my time until I am irrelevant leads to the competition winning.  Possible or not possible?  Can be turned up without trying to or can’t be turned up without trying to?  Church and society as less than ideal sin out, less than ideal injustice reduced – it takes us all on journeys, journeys that might have the destination set as irrelevant, can’t fix that.  Won’t have time to fix that – can’t guarantee I won’t be diagnosed with cancer tomorrow, but delay is valuable.

An hour or 10 years – not precious is not precious.

Imagine being left on the street on repeat.  Left homeless, left with injustice as let.  Is that an hour that is considered precious, or precious to reinforcing profit in the same hands as always?

Delay lead to profit – what happened to them…. That is non of our concern, it is not on the balance sheet.

All that said it would be unwise to amplify people to be too afraid of wasting each others time.  Having access to have a conversation that might save a life? They might need to tell me something important like don’t touch that, High Voltage?  Reinforcing my time, all people’s time is valuable, without silencing each other or turning up a society of non-cooperation seems hard, fatally flawed at best.

Time is valuable, worth protecting facilitates humanization.  There is contrast between the strain, diametrically opposing sides.  People want to increase the right kind of conversation and communication while limiting the wrong kind.  Imagine you are a lawyer and need to get someone out of jail, yet every lost second counts, counts into the person in jail losing more seconds, yet you are surrounded by small talk you like.  Limiting small talk might lead to never hearing – “Don’t walk off that cliff”, not limiting small talk might lead to injustice perpetuated.  Buy in cost increased for conversation is significant and consequential.

The person in Jail’s small talk is missing from the conversation.  How much do you care?  The person in Jail is theoretical, useful for reason and to prove a point, yet in corrupt systems and perpetuated by injustice around the world, theoretical is reality for others.  Granted if you free these theoretical people they might not be at your dinner table, yet their conversation missing matters, matters to someone, likely matters to God.
