A Maven project created in Eclipse gives two options on Import to IntelliJ, Eclipse or Maven, multiple options does not always lead to ideal. I tried importing my JavaFX project that runs in Eclipse in IntelliJ and it did not work though install said restart required and haven’t restarted yet.

Upon import I get the following error:

Compiles after adding a Maven clean package install debug configuration yet I am getting the following error:

My source file was in src/main/java vs src thus changing module settings to point to the different src directory enabled ability to compile

Now able to run my JavaFX Project, there errors I saw might be helpful to others working on moving from an Eclipse project to an IntelliJ project

In Eclipse I had to set up a specific JavaFX plugin eclipse fx. It is nice JavaFX works out of the box in IntelliJ.

Attempting to customize the User Interface background on IntelliJ seems to not yield ideal results. I was unable to find the setting to set the background to dark black. I can set to high contrast mode but that turns all windows backgrounds to dark black which is a less enjoyable experience.

Able to Time and Measure Performance Swiftly Accurately factors into Throughput, because humans can’t easily perceive very small time differences. Adding results over a period of time can improve comprehension.

Rendering 1 frame might be not fully perceivable. Rendering 10,000 frames could be minutes of difference.

10,000 frames at 60 frames per second, 10,000/60 = 166 seconds approx 3 minutes

10,000 frames at 20 frames per seconds, 10,000/20 = 500 seconds, 600 seconds would be approx 10 minutes – 60 – 40 approximately 8 and 1/3 = 8.333 (rounded) minutes

5 minutes difference, a 5 minute head start can be huge

Having the class available, tried, tested in advance, can be potentially an hour of saved development time. Trying to deliver performance having access to code in advance can be huge. Factors into ability to deliver performance gains, potential for a business to deliver vs not deliver, potentially in way that keeps the lights on vs off.

Knowing what a class, a piece of code adds vs does not add takes time and investment. Investment that latency can’t enable, except through investing in up front. Investment that has the potential to lead to less latency, less latency at critical times. Improved latency requires less latent choices in advance that increase throughput. Like training for a marathon or sitting on the couch.

A week from now, if I just sat on the couch, potential for less ability to walk, potential for blood to have moved less, potential for my future to be enabled less.

If I can process 50% of a document on one process and 50% on another. And that task takes 1 hour. I can put that on two machines that work similarly. One might return in 31 minutes and another might return in 29 minutes. If A+B = whole process computed, or B+A = whole process computed, in verifiable way then performance can be gained.

Python is much faster to project creation than JavaFX right now.

I think Java Code reads more clearly than Python currently, that said speed for delivering a prototype swiftly is a lot of Power

Java gives a lot of Explicit Structure and clarity, my guess is it would be easy to build in a less structured way in Python. People that are seasoned in both languages likely have more full appreciation for migration from a Java to a Python project and from a Python to Java project.
