Personal Goal

One hour of day to Reducing World Wide Oppresion for a year

7/12/2023 to 7/12/2024

What would 365 hours of reduced oppression investment do for the World? How would it change self personally?

Thinking about problems like

  1. Reduced Access
  2. Diversity
  3. Villain Level Contrast and Associations that are amplified less than sufficiently
  4. Positive Challenges
  5. Increased Conversation
  6. Reduced Miscommunication
  7. Reason and Logic Systems (Computing and Law) to More Valuable for All, not just Max Profit for some

Why an hour each day? Past has repeatedly turned up Wars, has allowed Oppression to be amped and re-amped. We clearly are doing something wrong. Time invested factors into valued versus less valued, into surface area for critical thought versus less surface area for critical thought.

Oppression

20 year olds today have the ability to invest in more oppression or less impression. How they are treated when they are 30, 40, 50, 60, 70+ all depends on the investments they make today in less oppression or lack of investments they make.

History has precedent for not appreciating the elderly, companies have tendency for appreciating those trained and with potentially less neuroplasticity less. A 50 year old professional or a 30 year old recent graduate that comes at a fraction of the cost? This World has a tendency for reinforcing people are valuable, when they have passed a certain bar until they fall behind another bar. People are always adequately valued and humanized for the person they are for the spark of life and light they all shine on the World? No.

Humanization is not the default. Prisons and Jail, people in cages after robbed and left on the street by society is more of the norm in USA society out of war time. In war time or after disasters, a failing economy likely to be much worse. Humanization level is good enough to get by, Oppression level is good enough to get by doesn’t really cut it in this World.

People are likely to see a mirror 20 years from now of the society they invest in today. More Doctors 20 years from now equals more need to be trained today. Less Oppression 20 years from now more likely with health that is dependable, as Reason and Logic, like Reason and Logic of why Oppression causes huge problems is dependent on functional healthcare, functionality that can easily be called into question in a failing economy compounded by trillions of dollars of debt finally reaching critical mass.

Oppression, like the oppression against my life not stood up against today is likely to set precedent for 5 years from now, 10 years from now, 20 years from now. I might not be around to see it at its worst and that might not be all value out. Future is not set in stone, though current trajectory equals Oppression likely more to be a guarantee than an if.

God of allows Genocide and Gas Chambers I am not sure can be trusted with, won’t let that happen.

People treated fairly today, not robbed of resources today factor into the resources those giving people have tomorrow. What is turned up today factors into what will be turned up tomorrow.

I would like to help but I have no money because of the oppression inherent in the system is more common than people might like to believe, more common than people might like to fully ponder.

Typing Speed Thoughts

Precision and Accuracy matters

Practice matters

Humans aren’t built for max typing speed. Humans aren’t built for the keyboard, the keyboard is built for Humans.

Better choices on keyboards and chairs can lead to better ergonomics. Better ergonomics has potential to be more sustainable long term. More investment in ergonomics might lead to reliance on different systems that might not always be availabe (not used to using a basic keyboard and required to can lead to throughput losses, potential at critical times).

Accuracy matters, backspaces is a major place of losses in typing. Errors like missed notes on a piano, glaring and interrupts focus. Flow matters for increased throughput.

Practicing with multiple keyboard types might lead to better ability to adapt to different layouts. Same basic layout but different distances is possible.

All gains to teaching typing have yet to be comprehended meaning there is potential for gains. Gains has the potential to lead to computers and logic systems as more useful for society, though gains have a precedent of not always being used ideally. Teaching reduced oppression along with typing skills might be a valuable endeavor. Logic and Reason systems like Law, that rely upon typing, are not always used in everyone’s best interest, not always used without desire to Maximize Profit for a few while leaving some to die of hypothermia on the side of the street. Decisions around law matter, throughput for people that don’t amp oppression factors into who lives and who dies. Less Oppression is Life and Death, more Throughput for those trying to reduce it is Life and Death and likely not always fully appreciated for the levels at which that happens.

Typing Speed

Improving any skills requires

  1. Practice
  2. Consistency
  3. Ability to adapt to overcome hurdles

Typing speed with bigger words can look reduced. How one measures typing speed matters, characters per second might be a more accurate gauge as words per second can become more variable.

Certain fields have certain words for domain knowledge. Medicine more likely to use words like Cardiac and Meningitis. Less practice typing domain specific words can equal lower throughput for typing speeds in some fields. If a word is odd, unfamiliar questions arise is the word spelled correctly? Possibility of incorrect can lead to speed losses.

Max Throughput does not equal Consistent Throughput. Able to type 100 WPM for a minute then only able to type 60 WPM for the next 10 minutes can give a false reading, potentially a false impression of value and throughput in one’s skills. If I think I type at 100 WPM and I generally do for short bursts it could lead to me thinking I have ability to deliver 1000 Words typed faster than I do. 1000 Words at 100 WPM is 10 minutes. 1000 Words at 60 WPM is 16.67 (17 minutes) before factoring in Focus losses and breaks. Throughput with breaks, focus losses, rounded over time has potential for being a more sober judge of actual throughput.

Actual throughput matters, burst throughput gains matter. Gains might be small does not equal they are zero value added. Able to increase speed in typing for short periods can substantially increases search speed, round trip time for questions and answers. Consistent throughput over periods like 10 to 30 minutes matters though is generally less frequent in careers that don’t involve writing or dictating like in a court room. Short bursts at 100 WPM could be very valuable for careers like Computer Programming where many times one works with a debugger for a while then once enabled with the solution can quickly type code to help fix the problem.

Consistent throughput invested in can improve burst and max speed. 10,000 words might take a few hours (50 minutes if one types at 100WPM with ideal focus and zero breaks). That said 10,000 words is a lot more practice typing than 0 words, a lot more time building neural pathways and memory. More iterations with words and typing increases comfort, reduces cost per word. If you normally type 10,000 words a day, if asked to type 1000 words it becomes less of an issue, no big deal, thus reducing the cost. If you haven’t typed 1000 words very often it becomes more of a chore and more daunting as the practice and delivery is something out of the norm, a requirement above normal.

It is important also to comprehend the value in a skill. Some people might only type 50 WPM and that is adequate for their lifestyle. Someone that learns to type 100 WPM has ability to search faster, has potential for enabled in some ways others might not be. If the one with 100 WPM is searching for a 10 minute video then the faster typing speed gets them to the video faster, does not equal their focus and attention to that video is guaranteed to be greater than that of the one that types at 50 WPM. 100 WPM is faster output, does not always equal the words are more thought through, have always been subjected to ideal scrutiny.

Writing by hand can lead to greater cost per word and more time reading and reading the same words. Higher cost per word can be valuable at times and is likely not always pondered. Higher Typing speed is a valuable skill, can be a valuable skill, is not a valuable skill in all circumstances, might not always be the value added one thinks it is, has potential for more enabled when one knows what it adds and what it does not.

Higher typing speed can be more valuable if one learns to offset the costs. Words thought through less might equal straying from important hot button topics might be higher value added. Sometimes people invest in a topic, a topic that is easy to get wrong without first considering is it a battle worth fighting, is it worthy for me to get into, others might be more equipped to hand the situation better than self, and that can be freeing, more potential for actually enabling typing than having access to a computer disabled. Oppression exists, people don’t always consider the costs, and those costs might not always lead to more practice typing.

Typing speed practice has the potential for being value added in other ways. Practice can be used to learn new terms or just type lorum ipsum which has potential for less useful over the long haul. Not invested in what you are reading has potential for establishing bad habits if reinforced enough. People reinforce paths in the brain in practice without first always considering whether it will be easy to be able to turn those reinforced paths off easily, when required. Typing practice sometimes reinforces the concept that what you are reading is just to be copied, does not actually need to be read and thought about. How one practices matters, reiterations reinforced are hard to turn off on a moment’s notice, trying to rewire what fingers type which keys is a reminder that paths are built and not always simple to fix swiftly.

Complexity and knowledge grow over time. More potential paths, more ways to think about things have the potential for sometimes value added not always value added. Increased complexity can lead to losses to throughput.

I need to think about what I am reading and typing, I don’t need to think about what I am reading and typing just coping. I sometimes need to think about what I am reading and typing. The combination has the potential for amping less than ideally, has potential for being harder to turn off or switch specially as one ages has skills repeated more in particular contexts. Switching is a requirement, ability to gauge levels of importance is a requirement, and people judge and discern importance less than ideally built upon vastly reduced resolution, obfuscation, and relevance limiting at times.

Improved typing speed is value? Yes. Improved typing speed is zero cost, zero potential for problems? No.

Improved reading speed is value? Yes. Improved reading speed is zero cost, zero potential for problems? No.

Schools invest in Education that is value added, not always value added, and that is a known? Yes. People are unique, have different brains yet we claim content and education made for the mass amps ideally for the masses and if that were true we would likely have much less problems than we do.

Educating a skill many times invests in concessions that are less than ideal less than sufficient for some for the sake of increased throughput. Will amp gets upsold to amped sufficiently, ideally. Will amp is useful, negate it is ideally useful, useful without potential for issues that need to be addressed, thought about and considered with Time, Thought, and Reflection that is not always sufficiently invested in.

Using the term amp for the word amplify here. Volumed up.

People commonly use metaphors and similes, similar far from exact systems to raise comprehension and to increase understanding. Context is sometimes reduced for the increases in potential for associating two things that might be better delivered in their own context. The concessions are common and amp less than ideally many times in life. They are reinforced, the usefulness in combining different systems that might be better not combined is reinforced repeatedly as useful in society. Typing on a keyboard is like practicing a musical instrument. Practice is required for greater throughput does not equal the differences in the systems might always be fully vetted. What is appropriate or allowed in a song might cause problems in typing or vice versa. Context is negated for the sake of throughput at times, for sake of increased relatable comprehension does not equal it is always ideal or always sufficient value added.

Playing a drum is different than Playing a trumpet. One involves more movement of the arms, one requires more focus and attention given to pitch. Yet we tend to address practicing musical instruments as practicing a musical instrument without always giving sufficient context or appreciation for differences. Useful to group is turned up in less-than-ideal ways in society and is not always pondered. Reduced attention to detail, detail losses for purpose of throughput gains has precedent for delivering less than ideally and less than sufficiently.

Typing on a keyboard. Typing on an ergonomic keyboard. Typing in a different language. Typing on a keyboard made for a different language. Typing with help from dictation AI. Throughput is same, same potential for problems and nuances?

A computer today might be like a different instrument than a computer 3 years from now. Has potential for upsold to same does not equal likely or guaranteed to be the same. New Instruments require new investments with time, thought, and reflection yet are released to the public without always considering potential for value added and value subtracted.

It is reason and logic that delivers faster thus its value added will be ideal? A new law is reason and logic that is many times aimed at delivering faster, thus its value is guaranteed to be ideal? Humans improve reason and logic throughput based upon their knowledge without always full comprehension of the way things will amplify over time.

One had to search through various libraries for a month to find the perfect book. Another typed at 100 WPM and had the book returned as a PDF instantly. Which one is more likely to read and value the contents in the book? If the content is valuable and powerful, which one is actually higher value added?

Reduced Search cost, reduced requirements for finding knowledge has the potential for being value added, less than sufficient value added at times. Allot of gains and achievements in Mathematics lead to Integrals as a valuable system. Yet Integrals might just be considered one more requirement for college versus actually valued. One of many examples of where improved throughput and speed leads to valuable systems less valuable less valued with increases of complexity.

More to cover might not always equal ideal surface area given to topics. Less ideal surface area has the potential for making the system useful less useful than it could be. A high school student that knows Calculus like the back of their hand might be able to deliver more value than one with a PhD in Mathematics. The right skills refined have potential for being more powerful than increases in complexity and requirements that are amplified via complexity.

More things to think about, more things to consider, less attention to detail all gets upsold to greater value added in less than sufficient ways.

Learning Terms

Learning new terminology is a common problem in education. More time with terms and surface area factors into greater ability to pick terms up as memorable. I find introduction to new terms potentially in summaries to spark interest. Not knowing what something means can factor into desire to actually learn what a term means.

Finding ways to increase surface area in time seems like it has higher potential for picking up new terms. Like immersion in a new language. Hear the phrase “What is your name?” in a new language one time, or 20 times? Twenty times has more potential for surface area in different contexts, has more potential for being considered as useful and valuable. Reiterations factors into memory. Reiterations on terms builds a base of terminology and many times field and domain specific terms build on one another. There is a bit of a learning activation energy, once sufficient amounts of terms are learned learning the subject and domain can become easier, picking up new terms simpler as easier to see where they fit in, like the puzzle pieces at the end of a puzzle.

The difference between someone that is successful in a subject and someone who gives up is likely the difference in getting past the activation energy sometimes. Don’t give up, Never Say Die! Past activation energy has potential for being Empowered Clear Sailing.

Everyone is different, I find reading summaries and terms at end of chapters initially versus reading all chapters through sequentially to be valuable. Hear a term once early on potential for more reiterations, more potential for considered as valued, more ability to locate it in context, context that is likely to factor into valued and memorable. Straight Forward might not be ideal surface area for learning new domain terminology and knowledge.

Fault Tolerance was a Master’s level class in Computer Engineering. More appreciation for the term earlier on has potential for a lot of value added.

Someone introduced to the term might not find it valuable until 20 days from now when they hear it again. More people that give surface area and context, more potential for appreciated and valued, more appreciated and valued equals more potential for memorable and factored in at a future date.

Fault Tolerance and Graceful Degradation in Blood Circulation to the Brain?

Fault Tolerance (Engineering), Graceful Degradation (Engineering), Circle of Willis (Anatomy)

Learning new terms and finding more reasons to value and draw connections has potential for memorable value added.

I am currently video recording my read throughs including reading of Chapter Terms and Summaries. Then I can replay the recordings both actively and in the background and thus increase iterations and repetitions over time thus potentially increasing memorable and time for critical thought. Tablets with Screen Recording (like my Samsung S7+ tablet) is helpful for recording and replaying. OBS Studio is useful screen recording software for Windows. Activation Energy to go through reading is easier with a video that is reading along. Easier Activation Energy, including ability to increase speed (I increase the speed to 2.5x after reading) factors into less time costs for reiterations, reiterations that improve surface area and potential for memorable and critical thought, connections.

Something that usually takes 30 minutes to read through now to around 12 minutes with more energy, less activation energy and less time costs factors into more potential to be used and thus more repetitions. I use VideoMaker app on Android to speed up the screen recordings to 2.5x, seems to do good with not changing the tone (speed ups in past used to make tone higher). The tech is more powerful has potential for being more useful, useful for learning in ways less possible in the past.
