“Woe to the world for temptations to sin! For it is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the one by whom the temptation comes!”. – Matthew 18:7
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” – Matthew- 5:10-12
Thoughts on two words that are close but slightly different. Christ doesn’t seem like legalism and Fee A – mercy for the merciful, forgives and you will be forgiven.
That said, temptation brings woe, but I don’t think people can ideally establish what temptation creates which woe.
It could wrongly assign woe caused by one’s own temptations to persecution. Persecution paid in blessings, not sure tempts should be conferred to blessings but we are required to Not Judge.
If is A one them up for Catholics and Protestants when I want them both blessed and protected?
