Searched on Google for reducing Evil and found this as the first search result – https://www.livehope.org/devotional/how-to-overcome-evil/
and my recent attempt https://techinfodebug.wordpress.com/2025/09/30/less-evil-in-the-world-september-30th-2025/
I like their reminders of less eye for an eye, less evil for evil. Easy to want to punish evil without acknowledging our own sins. I don’t think we are even ideally equipped to value and weigh the full impact of our sins. It is easy to think punishment of evil is the requirement regardless of how much injustice is in place, evil needs to be stopped in a pragmatic sense yet no requirement to change our own injustices. We know the system isn’t perfect, does not A Golden Rule for all parties, yet because we rely upon safety, fear for our own protection, we turn up law enforcement through laws and taxes. That helps some parties over others and because change is hard, injustices persist.
If relying on punishment while allowing injustice is evil, how can we be more good for evil, rather than eye for an eye? Without sin cast the first stone – Christ’s teaching – following it factors into Love for Christ, for God. Mercy for ashes doesn’t sit well on the stomach yet I believe that is the call with Christ.
