I am protestant, not catholic. I am only slightly familiar with catholic confession.
If I went to confession, told my sins, then found out later there were microphones in the booth – that disseminates data to the rest of the known world that does not use that information always per the Golden Rule – I might never want to go to confession, might not want to be Catholic again.
The world has a problem with unforgiveness. Broken trust by authority James 4:17 knowing and not doing is sin. If a priest is knowingly not following The Golden Rule – knows there might be others listening – would they be in sin, unable to absolve sins? Thought is combination reduces have to rely upon the Catholic priests to tell data that they need to tell.
As a protestant I believe I can go directly to Christ. And with a world full of cameras and microphones – claim sins are really unknown? I am too busy trying to deal with my own problems, probably like most people to likely comprehend in ideal ways, and others that might be watching are not God, likely to comprehend in ideal ways? God gives authority to an unforgiving world, or likely some sin in that?
