Thoughts on Respect
One might think that respect is no big deal. A leader can just be disrepected like it is nothing.
Yet then at a later point you might want to rely upon that leader’s power. For instance you disagree with a leader and then that leader is disrespected. You want your disagreement voiced, concerns heard yet reinforcement of disrespect might equate to that leader has less power to achieve their goals, goals you might be aligned with.
If you are Christian, Christ and God made the universe. Lots of stuff that go on in this universe, this world worth disagreeing with, yet if Christ is telling people to forgive you in the future – you don’t want that power diminished.
All that said, that might lead to no disagreement at critical times – tyrants get in power for a reason, some of which is never disagreeing. Therefor there is a mix between reinforcing respect and reinforcing power in the right directions.
