Many jobs on the line in already difficult financial times. 15 days might not seem like a long shutdown but if you are waiting on a paycheck, trying to stop an eviction – the days the government is shutdown might be a bigger deal.
I know a small amount of loss can snowball, have to sleep on the streets for a few nights might lead to a cold, a hospital stay – something that would be low cost turned into a multiyear productivity loss.
I have been homeless, I have seen allot of homeless people – more people losing jobs, less money flowing into businesses triggering requirements to further cut costs (lay off employees) sounds awful. It would be nice to not see the damage that has been done to me redistributed to others in society.
