Self Sufficiency in the Days of AI
Imagine you are a pioneer crossing the plains and come across a river. The families on the trail have to group together to get across the river because there is no bridge. Fast forward to 2025 – “Why the hell would I need your help crossing a river? We have plenty of bridges, your support is unwanted, un-needed, is less profitable – know it, show it, owe it (be humble stay silent)”.
We might be producing a society and mentality we don’t want. Why go into a business venture with others, a risk proposition when I don’t need a movie cast, directors, producers to produce A level content? “AI does that for me, now why do I need you?” The combination is not all pretty.
The idea is engineering creates better products that enable the future in amazing ways. Yet has smartphones, the power to access all the world’s libraries always at our finger tips really lead to ideal friendships, support, love for our neighbors, appreciation for less than Einstein, appreciation for doesn’t know that, appreciation for could of looked that up themselves but chose to ask me instead (an investment in communication belittled – not really the aim of smart phones).
Does a self sufficient world really even need me to finish writing this? Grow apathy reduced investment in communication channels, power in self valued higher than power of others to help? All at no cost?
Chooses to not be my reader – can’t blame people for that – lots of good content, lots of important content outside of my words. That said, devaluing my words like they are nothing, don’t have to be heard, really how you would wish to be treated? A Golden Rule? We turn up self sufficiency and less golden rule without even trying to and then try to claim it doesn’t grow apathy, why bother?
Worth of note – society grows band wagon appeal and popularity, ostracizes some at times including using humor and alpha piss as a way to belittle and reduce support for others, reinforce competition, reinforce who is right and who deserves to be heard more. The combination is consequential, it means self sufficiency is valued higher at times than a competitive system built on profit that really doesn’t care that much about you, others, investors, or consumers of the products – a march towards unchecked capitalism has problems. If you have stock, you are an investor, a part of the team, your opinion and if you are or are not on the street matters – but if you don’t have stock, thrown to the wind will idealize trust, reinforce support for the future?
H F include as profitable and non-consequential? Our team is really only 10s, 9s need not apply. See the combination might not grow support in ideal directions? Brain damage from being homeless, robbed of support on repeat – it isn’t all 10. Forgiving a system that leaves me homeless after all that – maybe not punishing the system is part of the problem, maybe forgiveness is part of the problem. Friended that was in the past I might see better days to sorry for my investment, it doesn’t work that way? The persecution is over it is only bright days ahead – a nice thought, not all clean up the mess. Maybe part of the problem is we forgive the system for being less than A in the past, yet we expect a system a system that is likely to be imperfect to be closer to A, sufficiently, fair, just, better at a future date that never arrives. Might be less lost hope, failed expectation to know a system that is imperfect in the past, imperfect in the present, is likely to to be imperfect in the future. Knowing a system is a B not fully an A – gives flex and leverage for grace and mercy, making exceptions – looked at as a B might actually be more A. Odd traffic never happens, 100%, they are late, fire them – it is the way an A system works, an A system is brittle.
Seeing better days might be thought only better days are ahead, similarly bad not possible, worse definitely not possible. Yet truthfully bad as and worse while not ideal to worry about is both possible and possibly projected based on insufficient current output. Significant change in a valuable way could dramatically change the future for better – not to be confused with that change is guaranteed to happen, doesn’t need to be turned up, need to fixed swiftly. Don’t go to bed angry – blessed are the peacemakers – ideally the combination should speed peacemaking yet seems to fail on repeat in this world, or maybe it is just the world loves to hold grudges and fears moving forward to truth that isn’t represented by contingent upon grudges.
