10 Commandments in classrooms? If it saves one life, worth it or not worth it?

Yet it does convolute the line between Church and state.

People are given Freedom of Religion in the United States. Not having a scarlet letter like society, witch burning society, or Jonestown like society might get up sold to a guarantee as it has in the past with less than ideal implications and results.

Reminders to not kill, not steal, not hurt each other have value – likely don’t get ideally turned up in math classrooms. Math teaches people to add things up, how to profit, might be nice to have offsets.

Not sure how often it comes up in any classroom, just causally throw in what you are learning could be used for evil, but don’t – why don’t because an all powerful Christian God will punish you?

Add in science, physics, big bang and creation theory – not required to be talked about where the ten commandments are? People might see the win win even if they don’t believe in God – less killing, less stealing and that might save fellow citizens lives and prevent your business from being looted in the future.

Pragmatic vs theoretical – what leads to actual results in a better society? The conversation likely pays multiple pay checks, including high priced lawyers for the state. Could obfuscate from other issues – if time is a limited commodity those same lawyers might be useful for helping other processes like immigration?

I have lived into my 40s, had a chance to write this document. If less reminders of don’t kill and don’t steal were part of the design I might not have lived this long, might not have the capacity to give my two cents.

Alcohol, bars, and 18-year-olds is likely to be a one-day occurrence – offsets in advance have value.
