Getting a new ID in Texas seems problematic in 2025.
Requirement to have an address factors into ability to receive documents.
Getting a PO box from UPS requires a valid id with photo identification.
The SSA site says many times a social security real card is not required. https://www.ssa.gov/number-card/replace-card
To get a Texas ID card one needs the actual card from what I can tell on TxDPS. TxDPS-Real ID Document Check App
Getting a passport without an address for it to be sent to is problematic.
I tried to renew my drivers license online with DPS yet it said I was ineligible.
