Thoughts on paper plates vs dishwashers

paper plates have a cost with material and transportation

water systems also have a certain level of maintenance cost – yet keeping them maintained and useful has value outside of just washing dishes

economics of sending dirty water back to a treatment plant and back purified, verus extra waste which if plastic might not be phiodegradable?

Economic and environmental cost of Dishwashers and components? People that are traveling don’t always have easy access to a sink useful for dishwashing (another potential cost even if a dishwasher is not available), potential for maintenance problems if the drain isn’t designed for food. Requirement to build in washer dryer or dishwasher hookups always convenient, low cost, don’t prevent useful design in other directions?

I have dishes I can use, I don’t have access to a sink that is useful for dishwashing, I have to use paper towels to wash the dishes which equates to a certain level of loss – weighing pros and cons might lead to other designs, like tow-lets for washing dishes?

Camping might lead to desire to wash dishes, lake water might be seen as disgusting.

Salmon packets are cheap – making the potential for stink or bacteria worse. Potential to reduce waste – left over food is more problematic. Higher buy in cost for opening a packet – right level of hunger plus willingness to not have left overs.

One plate washed has potential for time savings – less moved around sink, dishwasher, cabinets, table. Small gains have power sometimes overlooked.

Reminder of governments processes that take excessive time as just a part of order and structure – bureaucracy – not really the word I am looking for more of like honor you give to a court, standards, best practices – formal maybe. Bureaucratic seems like the right word – formal routines we are used to that seem right are in place for a reason at times that might not lead to optimized solutions – but in a family since ceremonial, courtly, stately might sound more right.

Moving dishes around isn’t sitting down, standing up not all bad for people, moving dishes around not all bad for people, routine not all bad for people. Yet at the same time seen how we repeat similar processes in different ways in life losing time makes it seem like we might find a way to optimize, knowing as well those routines and processes lead to waste in time and resources, haven’t always protected the environment.

8 billion plus people – people will need something to do to keep their time busy (if they are busy they aren’t biting me mentality) might be confused with wasting their time is no big deal, is useful, even desirable – which is not what I want to invest in. Less people hurting each other good, less wasted time also good, people fostered to protect time better might lead to less sitting in lines and corrupt jails. Arbitrary formal processes that might increase value in some ways at sometimes that could be crippling if other nations figure out a way to optimize their system better – like in the case of wars.

A system that makes one that is in prison jump through 5 hoops to get something done and also makes the doctor trying to save your life or someone else you care about’s life also has to jump through those 5 hoops? Serves a different esoteric purpose might not always lead to the purpose said – which has potential for problems.

If someone is in your hair, tell them to go work on a bureuacratic process that wastes time to help them deliver on Golden Rule, treat others how you wish to be treated better to you? Reinforcing Golden Rule good, teaching others to value Golden Rule good, not respecting their time and autonomy – not good

We turn up process, we like to capitalize on process, we do not capitalize on process in ideal ways

Less questions is a useful system, always invest? – less practice with communication, might lead to problems solved in advance, but beers and a Jacuzzi is waiting? ROI not always seen as a two-way system – value for investing yet opportunity cost for not investing not always seen.
