US Citizens go to work everyday. They utilize international products everyday that factor into their support and success, support and success that factors into ability to provide for and protect their families.
Use Chinese products or do not use Chinese products in 2024?
A government that relies upon strategic ambiguity in supply lines, delays on clarity has potential for consequential on a larger scale than any citizen would likely like. Setting precedent, historic precedent for strategic ambiguity in decision making as useful is not always high value added.
6 months from now can we be certain there won’t be internment camps, everyone’s international products just stop working? Open relationships, trade partnerships factor into capacity to maintain, knowing what is allowed and not allowed clearly factors into capacity to maintain.
China combined with Border Problems and Fentanyl (enough that could kill our entire country sounds like) sounds like a major problem with huge implications. Capacity to maintain throughput relies on products including those from countries like China. The government talks about the problems but seems to fail to address practical concerns, like the fact we rely so heavily upon products from China.
The trade relationship further convolutes the point on reducing oppression in China. We want their people treated right, we know their people are not being treated right, we know that reinforces non-ideals on the world stage, yet we let iPhones and iPads rule USA all that were built in China? Is it even safe to use Apple these days?
I find the combination LTI value established and I am likely not the only one.
