Solar Panel Thoughts

A couple summers ago I purchased some solar panels, yet wattage was a bit low to run an AC unit in the Texas sun. Renogy the company I went with had great knowledgeable tech support.

Have an option that might not have been available back then

4 x 320 W could equate to 1280 W. I think the window unit I was using (floor with exhaust to window) was around 700 W. Would need a battery, controller, and inverter likely yet might be a nice option to reduce some heat from the Texas sun. 110 F degree heat or so last summer thus more options and helping the Environment could be useful. Make sure to check wattages on AC units one is using before purchasing (not always easily available to find).

Some pretty cool options from Anker as well. Important reminder there might be new safety concerns with portable power that aren’t usually a problem like if the portable electrical outlets are close to a pool.

Anker SOLIX F2000 Solar Generator + 2 x 100W Solar Panel – Anker US

From my own experience running a solar setup could be easier, though I think Anker’s setup addresses some of these concerns – I was using lead acid batteries and a controller and inverter with my original setup that is a bit more complex and a bit more to maintain (at least from my understanding). Ease of use might equate to more accessibility from the general public, general public might not always be reminded of safety concerns in ideal ways.

The electric bike I have is around 200W I think, pretty nice to think that many miles possible from one solar panel. Might be useful for setting up e-charging stations at city parks (phone and e-bike charging station might be nice). Wireless charging bike racks? Solar panels might be useful for remote SOS stations in the woods at national parks as well for people that get off trails and lost. Man gets lost in woods with power found via new e-bike saved by environmentally friendly power? Might be useful in deserts as well, Death Valley with extra options for escape?
