Can still get hurt with a jigsaw, to say surface area does not matter also I would think would be wrong
Used a Ryobi 18V Jigsaw on some of my woodworking projects, think it offers amazing versatility in a small package. Fast enough cuts that are a bit lower stress in my opinion than using a circular saw.
The right blades can cut sheet metal, will warn that at least for me went through blades pretty swiftly while cutting sheet metal. Definitely not a plasma torch.

Reduced weight can be valuable up to a point, air able to move through a material can be valuable up to a point. Materials with holes can be lighter, lighter in windy environments can work in unexpected ways.
On a different note, Volume Investments required for Appreciation does Not Always Amp Ideally. I have computers, I have created application that can generate content in a high level of volume, amount, and magnitude. Requirement to amp all combinations is not an all value proposition.
