- Direct Foreshadowing – Audience knows what is going to happen, merely hints at stories resolution, hints ambiguity allows for misdirection
- Indirection Foreshadowing – Clues of future events that are less obvious, most only evident in hindsight, intriguing statement that is clarified as foreshadowing later. Less than ideally perceivable and comprehensible originally can give re-watch potential
